Preview of The Most Inclusive HR Influencer List August 2021

Founded in 2019, The Most Inclusive HR Influencer List™ was designed to highlight leading global HR Influencers who are making a difference in HR and HR technology. Since then, we have grown our list and #HRforAll Community from 150 to 300 HR influencers! With each iteration, we find new voices across all subsections of HR including core HR, technology, compensation, learning, diversity & inclusion, and more.

Methodologies and Criteria for Inclusion

To qualify for this award, all winners must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a minimum of 1,500 followers on a single platform
  • Be a *current* HR Influencer
  • Talk about HR topics in a way that improves the profession
  • Be kind — no jerks allowed  
  • Be nominated. We have self-nomination and peer nomination forms available. Both forms are treated equally.

About the Upcoming The Most Inclusive HR Influencer List

Prior to launching each list, we publish previews in which we break down the demography of our winners. See May 2020’s Preview and September 2019’s Preview. This one is no exception. That said, check out the diversity of The List broken out by geography, gender and racial diversity, as well as job function and area of expertise.

Geography

Our upcoming list includes HR leaders from 20 countries, up from the prior list which includes representation from 17 countries. New countries include Qatar, Barbados, and Chile.

Gender Diversity

The upcoming list is proud to be comprised of 54% women and 46% men. December’s list featured 57% women and 43% men. 

Racial Diversity

With each new list, we strive to increase racial diversity and inclusion. Sixty percent of our upcoming list is white and 40% is non-white. More specifically, 26% of The List is Black, 11% is Asian, and 1% is Latin. Comparatively, our last list was 65% white and 35% non-white. We’re thrilled to continue to increase racial diversity over time.

Job Function

Alright, now let’s talk about job function. With job functions ranging from HR professors to analysts to consultants and practitioners, we represent a wide variety of HR and HR adjacent functions. Area of expertise aside, it’s clear The List is comprised of leaders and decision-makers, with 59% being Director-level or above. In addition, 5% are manager-level, 1% are college professors or instructors, and 1% are industry analysts. More than 1 in 4 HR Influencers on the list are c-level executives with an additional 20% being founders or co-founders, 4% being principals, and 4% being HR Business Partners. Outside of the C-suite but still high level, 11% of The List are Vice Presidents.

In terms of area of HCM expertise, 33% of The List works in HR, 22% work in Talent Acquisition and recruiting, 9.5% are HR technologists – including both HR Tech admins and analysts, 4% are in HR law, 4% are in the D&I space, and 1% is an expert in learning and talent development. In addition, 4% is comprised of HR technology marketers, who help HR technology vendors position, market, and sell technology.
