Several years ago, my friend Lars Schmidt started HR events called Random Tweets of Kindness Day #RTOKday. Each year, the HR community comes together to share kind words about each other.
This year, Lars is growing his business, crushing his podcast 21st Century HR, writing a new book, a million other things, and being an awesome person. So, this year, he’s given me permission to take over.

With that said, 2020’s Random Tweets of Kindness Day event will be March 16th!
Since no one can say it better than Lars, here’s how to participate in Random Tweets of Kindness Day.
How to Participate in RTOK Day HR Events
- Write your own blog post about why you’ll participate, and promote it using the #RTOK hashtag
- On the event day, send tweets, Facebook updates, Snaps, emails, phone calls, carrier pigeons, or whatever channels you’d like throughout the day to thank anyone you feel deserves recognition for their work – or just some kindness
- Keep an eye on #RTOK throughout the day, RT any tweets you feel compelled to share
Moving forward, I will propose a day that the HR community can celebrate this special event. Please help me spread the word, and joy to make #RTOKday successful.
